The renovation of the 100-year-old "Soto No No No" house in Kumano City is making great progress! Recently, under the guidance of Nonaka Construction, we worked on installing flooring materials. These materials were supplied by the innovative local timber mill nojimoku Inc. and include surplus cedar and cypress wood. By mixing different widths and types of wood, the flooring is taking on a unique and captivating character. So far, about 60% of the flooring is complete, and we expect significant progress during the next work session in December.
On November 29, 2024 ("Tomobiki"—a term from the traditional Japanese calendar symbolizing good fortune and auspicious timing for events), we launched our crowdfunding campaign! This time, we’re using an "All In" approach, ensuring that even if the target amount isn’t reached, the funds we secure will be used to complete our project. By transforming this historical property into a community school that blends nature and education, we aim to create a space that inspires and connects. We’d love for you to check out the project details and consider supporting us through the link below. 🔗 https://motion-gallery.net/projects/sotononono Soto No No No isn’t just about restoring a building—it’s about nurturing new opportunities for learning and community in harmony with nature. Once complete, we hope you’ll visit and experience the unique charm of this remarkable project. Stay tuned for further updates as we continue to make progress!
